Neuropsychological Assessment
Clinical Neuropsychologists are trained in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders associated with conditions affecting the brain. An assessment evaluates areas of cognition, including concentration, memory, language, and problem solving, together with emotions and behaviour. The collated information is used to assist with the diagnosis, characterisation, and treatment planning, for various conditions (e.g., developmental, neurodegenerative, neurological, and psychiatric).
We provide tailored assessments and recommendations to assist individuals with matters related to their work, study, and daily life, as well as to assist with applications to support eligibility to a range of services (e.g., NDIS, Centrelink, education accommodations). Assessments can be undertaken to identify strengths and weaknesses, monitor change over time, review response to treatment or rehabilitation, and to delineate capacity and decision-making abilities.
Our team has a breath of experience in assessing conditions across the lifespan and effectively communicating the outcomes of the evaluation processes. This also includes report writing for the Courts, Department of Communities, State Administrative Tribunal, and the NDIS. Depending on the nature of your referral, you will be offered opportunity to attend for a feedback session regarding the outcomes of your assessment.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
A registered NDIS provider, Dr Mandy Vidovich and Associates have a highly specialised and modest-sized team of PBS practitioners who have a wealth of experience in assessing, managing, and documenting, behaviours of concern. We adopt a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to our service delivery and training, and have established skill sets in working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disability, and neurological and psychiatric conditions, and who present with complex co-morbidities. Having also worked closely with the Department of Justice and their disability services, our PBS practitioners understand Court processes, community-based dispositions, and the challenges faced by individuals who sit within the disability and justice interface.
Intervention and Rehabilitation
Several of our clinicians have worked within hospital rehabilitative settings, as well as closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for individuals in the context of developmental, acquired, and neurodegenerative conditions. We can go beyond assessment and report writing, and work with you to achieve your rehabilitation objectives, manage behaviours of concern, provide education and understanding within academic and workplace settings, and to offer strategies for coping with cognitive and behavioural challenges. In working collaboratively with your rehabilitation team, referring doctor or specialist, insurance provider, or NDIS team, we can assist you in reaching your personalised goals for enhancing your well-being and quality of life.
